About Me

My name is Leila McDavid. I am 16. For most of my life people have been saying my name wrong. So I have just stopped correcting them till they ask if they are saying my name wrong. My name is what identifies me as a person, I really can’t see myself being any other name. My name is Arabic and it means night sky. It suits me cause I love looking at the stars wondering what else is out there. It's part of what identifies me. What identifies me? A question I have always wondered. What identifies me is my outgoing personality, to get to know anyone before judging them. I love working with people to help them with their problems. I work at cracker barrel, or well I used to. I have no idea if I still have my job. I love my job though, because I can help anyone. I love helping people because it makes me happy. I love torturing myself also to make me happy. I play soccer and I go hiking. I exceeded my physical limit when I went hiking. I've hiked 26.3 miles in one day two years in a row for a charity for kids with critical illnesses. That definitely defined me as a person because of my motivation. My motivation was how come I get to hike while they lay in bed staring at the ceiling or wall, wishing they could be with me on this hike. They draw pictures of the trees and nature, while I could actually see them, smell them, feel them. It motivates me to keep going because yes people have so much better, but people also have so much worse. That is what defines me as a person. School has always been a struggle for me. It's not because I am not smart enough. Just doesn’t make sense to me why we have to learn the things we do. I don’t let grades define me. I am trying much harder than I was before though. My friends are my motivation to keep trying in general. They care so much about me. They know when something is wrong and they won’t give up till they make me feel better. They motivate me to do better. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them by my side. This might be a different bio, but difference is what makes society thrive. So I don’t mind being different.
