Strong communities are built by leaders who invest their experience in the next generation. We’re proud to highlight one of those leaders on the Madison CEO Board - Mike Van Rassen.

Mike brings decades of leadership across the military, government, and private sector. After graduating from the University of Toledo, he was commissioned in the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps in 1985 and later earned his MBA from George Mason University. He is also a combat veteran of Operations Just Cause and Desert Storm.

Throughout his career, Mike developed deep expertise in defense acquisition, spending more than 20 years leading complex programs both in uniform and as an Army civilian. In 2004, he launched and led the Army’s Counter–Rocket, Artillery, Mortar (C-RAM) initiative, overseeing acquisition efforts valued at more than $7 billion supporting combat operations. His work spanned advanced technologies including command and control systems, missiles, radars, communications, and weapons systems.

Following his federal service, Mike continued supporting military and government markets as President at Rajant Corporation before retiring in 2024 and founding his own consulting firm, Van Rassen Enterprises.

His leadership and service have been recognized with numerous honors, including Army Product Manager of the Year, the Superior Civilian Service Award, and induction into the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Distinguished Civilians Wall of Honor. 💯
